About S. Kula Women’s College Library, Nambol
The Library of S.Kula Women’s College, Nambol spread over 3660 sq. feet area with independent building. The library is centrally located inside the campus providing a safe, comfortable and friendly environment from all sections of the Department and also enables a right platform for learning and advancement of knowledge. The vision of the Library is to provide new knowledge through acquisition, well organization and dissemination of resources to its users’ community. At present, the library has a total collection of more than 12000 Physical books and 300000 e-Books and 6000+ e-Journals subscribed through N-LIST. It also subscribes important daily local newspapers.Under N-LIST consortium, Library has subscribed various e-journals from world-wide reputed publishers like American Institute of Physics, Annual Reviews, Economic and Political Weekly (EPW), Indian Journals, Institute of Physics, JSTOR, Oxford University Press, Royal Society of Chemistry, H. W. Wilson, and Cambridge University Press and also can accessed various e-books through Cambridge Books Online,E-brary, EBSCoHost-Net Library, Hindustan Book Agency, Institute of South East Asian Studies (ISEAS) Books, Oxford Scholarship, Springer eBooks, Sage Publication eBooks,Taylor Francis eBooks,Myilibrary-McGraw Hill, South Asia Archive and World e-Books Library.
Recently the library started data entry as a part of partial automation using SOUL 2.0 Integrated Library Management Software developed by the INFLIBNET centre,Gandhinagar. The library is also equipped with 5 CCTV cameras surveillance system in both G+1 floors. It also provides power backup facility with UPS for accessing library resources through internet and also providing Library internet wifi facility.
Innovative library service like “E-Book SKWCLibrary Whatsapp group” where users demand are discussed and solved through telephonic way. Users Awareness Programme and One Day International Workshop on “Access to E-Resources: N-LIST” are being conducted through our Central Library and IQAC Cell, S.Kula Women’s College under the sponsorship of UGC Stride C-1 on 30th January 2021.
